Beginning on June 20, 2025, there will be a change to the transaction fee structure for certain electronic payments.
What’s Changing?
- The transaction fee is changing from a flat fee to a percentage-based fee (2.95%) for credit/debit cards. The transaction fee for ACH/EFT payments is increasing to $2.75.
- This fee is charged by InvoiceCloud, our third-party payment provider. The Douglasville-Douglas County Water and Sewer Authority does not receive any portion of this fee.
Who Is Affected?
- Customers who pay electronically (by credit card, debit card, or e-check) will see the new percentage-based fee, or a slight increase in the flat fee.
- Customers enrolled in Auto Draft through InvoiceCloud will also be impacted. A transaction fee already applies.
Who Is NOT Affected?
- Customers who use their bank’s online “bill pay” service (such as through Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Synovus, etc.) will not be charged a fee.
- Customers using Auto Draft set up directly through the Water Authority (WSA) will continue to enjoy no transaction fees.
Want to Avoid the Transaction Fee?
You can pay your bill online without a fee by using your bank’s online bill pay service.
- Payments made this way are sent directly from your bank to the Douglasville-Douglas County Water Authority, just like mailing a check.
- Simply log in to your bank’s website and set up the Water Authority as a payee.
