At the Douglasville-Douglas County Water and Sewer Authority (WSA), keeping our customers informed is a top priority — especially when it comes to service interruptions. That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of our brand-new online outage map. This is the first in a series of improvements planned for the year, designed to enhance our communication with customers.
“We want people to feel more prepared whenever there is a disruption to their service. This launch is just one of many steps that we’re taking to improve how we communicate with our customers,” said Customer Service Manager Tony Rea.
With a few clicks on the WSA website, customers can view current outages, see estimated restoration times, and check the status of planned maintenance work. This new tool also helps our inspectors and field crews respond quickly to incidents such as main breaks, emergency repairs, or scheduled maintenance, while customers can zoom in to see affected streets.
WSA will continue to directly notify affected customers of planned outages. In addition to the outage map, WSA has future phases planned, including a way that allows customers to report outages and an updated notification system.
“Service interruptions —whether planned or unexpected— can be frustrating,” said Executive Director Gil Shearouse. “This new online map will give our community a more streamlined way to stay informed and plan proactively if their area is affected.”
