Dog River Recreational Complex Now Open

It’s that time of the year again – the Dog River Recreational Complex has opened for the 2023 season! Douglas County residents and business owners are invited to spend some time at the scenic Dog River Reservoir enjoying activities with family and friends or going solo to get away from it all. Season passes can be purchased at the WSA Administrative Building on Hospital Drive and day passes are available on site. Please note two important messages regarding the Complex:

  1. Due to staffing issues, operating hours will temporarily be shortened to 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. WSA is actively seeking part-time Recreational Complex attendants – please apply online or in person at the Hospital Drive Administrative Building.
  2. As you may know, WSA is currently working on expanding the capacity of the Dog River Reservoir. Some of the construction work will necessitate restricted usage of the facility. We anticipate intermittent closures of the Recreational Complex to between March 13 and March 26, 2023, as a construction barge is launched into the reservoir. It is highly suggested that, during this time frame, you call the Complex to get the latest status update – (770) 920-3871. The Complex attendants will let you know the current restrictions, if any, during this two-week period.
